The sun is out and summer is here and this means its time to hit the waves and bring out those barbeque parties. If you are looking for a few inspirational trends this summer 2016, here are a few that might help you get started.
Those aviators, though – are so in right now. Ray Ban’s got a whole line of it and a good number of high-street stores have similar ones as well. Unless you plan on wearing them for extended periods of time, think twice before investing in the high-end brand. It’s always great to have good designer wear sunglasses, but it comes with a heavy price tag! Also keep in mind on how trends are likely to change every season and every year, so unless it’s something relatively generic, put some good thought prior to paying the big numbers.
They’ve been in for a while now, but the trend is here to stay it seems. Even designer bags now come with a two-way option, a long strap and a rucksack, which makes one bag convenient for multiple occasions. The early 2000s trends of small rucksacks and the mid 2000s of the cloth-based ones are also in.
There has been some debate on the trend of prints over the years. Some say large prints, some say small delicate and detailed prints, it actually really depends on the person and occasion.
Since it’s summer, maxi dresses are very much back from storage so large, vibrant and colourful prints are the way to go. At the same time, if it’s a nice picnic Sunday you are looking at, a petite casual sundress with small prints is something you might want to bring back with that picnic basket!
Denim is a trend that never goes out of style. Denim is always a great investment as well, given that it’s good quality and comes from a good manufacturer. However, denim has been worn very differently over the years. We see a lot of the mid-millennium trends coming back with the rips and the ties and the cut off jeans. Skinny jeans are still in, but there is a slight comeback from the much-loved boot-legged ones as well that show off a bit of the calves the skinny jeans were hiding.
If you were a careful observer of trends, you would realise that a lot of the time, it’s the old ones making their big comeback. It’s not even new for those from generation baby boomers to tell you on how they were big in “their day”. So keep your new pieces of shopping and clothing safely with you, who knows, you might be buying similar patterns in a few years time!
